Community - dedicated to 9-11

Working in the studio away from the rest of the world, one does not think that the effects of the world will creep into the inner world.  It did on 9-11 for many of us.  Months after this event, I was working on a copper plate with no plan.  The intention was to doodle on the plate.  After the first proof a friend noted that it looked like a New York skyline and the two at the center reminded him of the twin towers.  With the haunting spirits that were both buildings and people, he said that he thought it was commemorating the event.  It was not, but it soon became evident that this is what it was all about despite a lazy intention.  So the work is called Community in honor of all of us working together to make a better world.  This is in a number of collections and museums.  Prints are $400.00 and come in sepia and green as well as white on black - 10x20.

Where do we come from?

When first wandering through the desert these images haunted my feelings and heart.  Why had these ancient ones drawn on rocks with pictures, galleries of images?  At first it was to find water, later to notate where the families and tribes gathered, and yet there is something haunting about the images in grand gallery in Utah.  What are these for?  It struck me that they were as curious of the origins of life as we are.  While we use science, they used the architecture of spirit.  The two layers of this work show the diagramatic process which science figures things out with the ancient ones hovering in the foreground.  Neither of us may be correct, both may be.... we will have to see.  15x20 Intaglio Prints - $300.00.

Dream - Awake!

Dream-Awake! is a work dedicated to Buddhist meditation practices where the place between is where we are most aware and alive.  This world is a dream we must awaken from... this world is a place were we can awaken the dream.... etc.  Sepia print on hand made paper 18x24... $200.00
