Chakra Buddha

In line with my love of the chakras (see the page of detailed chakras), this work was gnerated in a very quick 4 days while playing music devoted to the chakras.  Fascinated that the image of the buddha which is so familiar, this work is to help us leap beyond image and form.  And yet we are distracted by the facial features and the iconography of many of those classical images of him.  In this work the focus is on the form, but filled with the intuitive character writing, an essential part of many works here.  The 7 chakras are linked in the old fashioned manner. Six are within the body, the seventh being the halo at the back.  The black line of the form has layers of characters in silver, white, grey and black.  It is meant to feel like a constant chant.  The form glows white if seen in person and tends to dominate any space where it has been hung at shows.
